KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALITY SYSTEMS & COMPLIANCE

• Establish, implement, and monitor QA systems aligned with ISTA and national seed certification standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, audits, and certifications.
• Develop and enforce SOPs for laboratory, processing, and packing units.

SEED QUALITY ASSURANCE

• Oversee seed testing (germination, physical purity, physical appearance, ODV, moisture, vigor, genetic purity).
• Monitor seed processing and packing operations for quality consistency.
• Approve seed lots for release based on QA parameters.

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

• Identify gaps in quality processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Track, review, and analyse all customer complaints to identify root causes, implement corrective and preventive actions, and ensure timely resolution while driving continuous improvement in seed quality and customer satisfaction
• Review and update the quality standards based on feedback from the sales and marketing team.
• Implement CAPA for non-conformities.
• Optimize QA workflows to reduce errors and improve efficiency

LEADERSHIP & COORDINATION

• Lead QA team members across lab and plant operations.
• Train staff on quality standards, testing protocols, and documentation practices.
• Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to ensure quality integration.

DOCUMENTATION & REPORTING

• certifications, and audits. Maintain accurate records of seed quality tests, certifications and audits.
• Prepare MIS reports on QA performance, seed lot status, and compliance metrics.
• Ensure traceability of seed lots from production to dispatch.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Strong knowledge of seed science, testing protocols, and processing technologies.
• Expertise in GA systems, audits, and certification processes.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Familiarity with ERP/QA management software.

QUALIFICATIONS

• M.Sc./Ph.D. in Seed Science, Agriculture, Plant Breeding, or Agronomy
• 5-8 years of experience in seed QA/seed industry, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.
• Exposure to ISTA/ISO audits and seed certification processes preferred.
