KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the Indian seed market, including state-wise cropping patterns, crop seasons (Khariff, Rabi & Summer), regional crop suitability, and demand trends for different seed products.
  • Develop and execute national sales & marketing strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Drive sales growth and achieve ambitious revenue and market share targets across India.
  • Lead, mentor and motivate Regional Managers, Territory Sales Managers and the sales team to maximize performance.
  • Prepare annual sales plans, budgets, sales forecasts and territory-wise business strategies.
  • Expand and strengthen dealer, distributor and channel partner network across key markets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop market expansion strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, customer requirements and competitor activities to formulate effective sales plans.
  • Ensure successful execution of product launches, promotional campaigns, field demonstrations and farmer engagement programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, dealers, institutional customers and business partners.
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Production, Supply Chain, R&D and Finance teams to ensure seamless business operations.
  • Review sales performance regularly and implement corrective actions wherever required.
  • Ensure timely collections and effective receivable management.
  • Guide and support the sales team through regular market visits, training, coaching and performance reviews.
  • Prepare and present MIS reports, sales analysis, business reviews and strategic recommendations to management

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • MBA/PGDM in Marketing, Agribusiness, Agriculture or related field.
  • 15-20 years of proven experience in Sales & Marketing in Seed or Agriculture Input industry.
  • Strong knowledge of state-wise seed demand, cropping patterns, agro-climatic zones and seasonal crop planning across India.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large, geographically dispersed sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of the Indian seed market, dealer/distributor management and channel development.
  • Excellent leadership, strategic planning, negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in sales planning, forecasting, budgeting and business development.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across PAN India.
